Corrupt Congressman Resigns

Congressman Randy "Duke" Cunningham (R-Calif.) pleads guilty to conspiracy and tax charges and resigns from office, after admitting he took $2.4 million in bribes to steer defense contracts to conspirators. He agrees to forfeit to the government his Rancho Santa Fe home, worth more than $1.8 million in cash and antiques and rugs. On March 3, 2006, he will receive a sentence of eight years and four months in prison.
