White House adviser Karl Rove, often credited with being the true intellect in the Bush adminstration, is promoted to deputy chief of staff. The titles comes in addition to his current role as Bush’s chief political strategist. Rove will have oversight of policy councils advising George W. Bush on national security, economics and the environment and will be coordinating domestic policy, economic policy, national security and homeland security. |
