In the closest race for Governor in Washington state history, six of Washington's 39 counties begin a hand recount of 2.9 million Gubernatorial votes. The rest are set to begin on Thursday December 9th, 2004. A machine recount found Republican Dino Rossi to be the winner by 42 votes over Democrat Christine Gregoire. The hand recount is the final tally allowed by state law. |
