CBS parent Viacom announces that Mel Karmazin has unexpectedly resigned as the No. 2 executive behind Sumner Redstone. The board names MTV boss Tom Freston and CBS leader Leslie Moonves to share the jobs Karmazin held as co-presidents and co-chief operating officers, effective immediately. Karmazin will remain on as a consultant for two months to smooth the transition. |
